Changing Lives
Since 2016, women have been coming together at Family Voice to connect, grow and thrive.
About us
Family Voice is a small, friendly, place-based organisation at Common Ground Community Centre, S7 1HA.
Local women, with lived experience of migration, shape everything we do — leading, teaching, supporting, and inspiring one another.
We are a community built on lived experience and respect.

What we do

Classes in a safe space
We provide free classes for women in a welcoming, safe space. Offering English, Health and employment — building skills, confidence, and valuable friendships.

One-to-one support
We provide one-to-one support, working holistically with women for as long as they want. Support is often required for housing, benefits and emotional issues.

Employment pipeline
Accessible ‘preparation for work’ classes and one-to-one support, helping local migrant women gain the skills they need to access paid work.

Community lunches and events
Women lead the way in bringing the wider community together at community lunches and events for all.

Global Made Local
Ammi’s Kitchen is Family Voice’s food social enterprise that transforms women’s authentic culinary skills into paid work. Women attend bespoke food hygiene training and gain a professional qualification, which creates more opportunities for paid employment and a more inclusive and distributive local economy.
Chefs cook traditional vegan and vegetarian recipes learnt from generations of women before them from different parts of the world, such as Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and Iraq.
10 Years of Working Together
We are proud to partner with game-changers. From local charities to ethical innovators, we work with organisations making a real impact.
